GRADUATION PROCEDURES
To Graduate, you must:
Pass the graduate comprehensive examination
Submit a graduation application
Complete the exit interview
All students that apply for graduation for January, May, and August are invited to the Commencement Ceremony in May. Candidates will receive information via their Kean email addresses during the spring semester regarding cap and gown orders, location, guest information, etc.
Applications will be reviewed by the Office of the Registrar to make sure that they have fulfilled all course requirements. Each student’s CALIPSO documentation will be reviewed within the department to assure entry-level competence. Completion of the student’s thesis and Praxis scores (if complete prior to graduation) will also be verified on their CALIPSO account. Please note that completion of the PRAXIS exam is not a graduation requirement. This will take place during the exit interview in which each student must participate.
TO APPLY:
Log into KEANWISE .
Go to the Academic Profile section and select Apply for Graduation.
Complete the online application and pay the $100 fee.
VIEW GRADUATION APPLICATION DEADLINES.
Important to note: Only online applications and payments can be accepted; hard copies of degree applications and other forms of payment will not be accepted. Applicants have three conferral cycles in order to fulfill their degree requirements before having to complete the application process again. This includes filling out a new application and repayment of the $100 fee. Exceptions cannot made, so proper planning with an academic advisor is imperative.
Exit Interview:
Students will meet with the Executive Director or graduate coordinator to review your Calipso account and all documentation required to certify completion of the program.
The Certification Application Verification Form will be completed by your Program Coordinator/Executive Director. This is the last page of your Application for Certification (CCC-SLP application from ASHA). This form documents that you have successfully met the requirements for the academic and supervised clinical practicum of your ASHA approved graduate program. When you apply for your CCC-SLP after completing your Clinical Fellowship (CF), this form will be a required page in your application. ASHA will need the (1) Certification Application Verification Form, (2) your Praxis scores, and (3) the report certifying that your CF has been completed.
Exit Counseling:
If you are a participant in a Federal Student Loan program, you are required to complete an Exit Counseling. For more information, visit: www.studentloans.gov
